The Association of Nuclear Medicine Physicians of India invites its members to submit an application for accreditation of their centers as a “Centre of Excellence” for conducting “An advanced Fellowship in Nuclear Oncology”.
This fellowship is being offered with the aim of imparting extensive training in the diagnostic and therapeutic use of nuclear medicine in patients with cancer. The course curriculum includes instruction in Positron Emission Tomography as well as the use of specific non FDG PET tracers for metabolic imaging of human tumors, conventional nuclear medicine with special emphasis on cancer imaging and nuclear medicine therapy. In addition, there will be an opportunity for basic instruction in oncology, onco-pathology, dosimetry, imaging physics, radiochemistry and PET guided interventional procedures.

ï‚· Plan, review and Interpret Planar, SPECT and F18 FDG PET-CT cases in patients
of cancer under the supervision of the attending nuclear medicine physician
ï‚· Work closely with the radiology department/attending nuclear medicine
physicians to understand the basics of cross sectional imaging

like I-131 scans, Ga 68 labelled radioligand and radiopeptide imaging scans and
any other such studies being done in the department
ï‚· Assist in intraoperative nuclear medicine procedures like sentinel node biopsies
and gamma probe guided excisions
ï‚· Assist and perform under supervision all interventional cases being conducted in
the department which may include PET CT guided biopsies, PET CT guided
insertion of radiotherapy fiducial markers and any other interventional
procedures being done in the department
ï‚· Actively assist in the PET CT guided radiation treatment planning scans and
work closely with the department of radiation oncology in the hospital to
understand the basics of radiation treatment planning
ï‚· Collaborate with the department of pathology for clinicopathological correlation
Therapeutic Nuclear Medicine in Oncology
ï‚· Assist and perform under supervision nuclear medicine therapies such as low
and high dose Iodine therapies, PRRT, PRLT, Radioimmunotherapy.
ï‚· Learn and understand the basics of internal dosimetry and assist and perform
dosimetry procedures in patients undergoing radioisotope therapies
